Senior Scientist, Philips Group Innovation, Research
Chris Varekamp obtained his MSc and Ph.D. degree from Wageningen University in The Netherlands. From 2001 till 2010 he worked as a senior scientist for Philips Research mainly focussing on the conversion of 2D to 3D video for the development of auto-stereoscopic displays. From 2010 till 2013 he worked as a senior scientist for Philips Consumer Lifestyle and later for TP Vision, a joint venture of Philips and TPV where he investigated computer vision algorithms for camera-based control. Since 2013 he is again employed as a senior scientist at Philips Research where he currently works on using depth technology for virtual and augmented reality applications.
In this talk I will discuss how a real-time depth-based processing chain can be built using our experience in stereo-to-depth conversion for autostereoscopic displays.
