Dr. Liang is currently the Tech SVP of HiScene, which is a company based in Shanghai focusing on Augmented Reality (AR) products and services. Dr. Liang got his B.S. and M.S. from Tsinghua University, and his Ph.D. from University of Maryland. He was among the first group of researchers to study OCR from a mobile device point-of-view. He and two colleagues built Amazon the first automated digital book content ingestion pipeline. Since 2012, Dr. Liang has actively participated in the trend of industry automation and upgrading in China, working as executive level IT directors with Suning Group, Zhongce Group and CTO of Stellar Group, respectively. Now at HiScene, his goal is to build a foundation of AR products and services to support industrial scenarios.
