Kharis O’Connell

Sr. Director of UX, Meta

Kharis has over 18 years of international experience in crafting thoughtful products and services, and prior to joining Meta, was Head of Product at Archiact – Canada’s largest VR/AR company. Prior to that he founded HUMAN in Vancouver, was Lead UX for Maps at Nokia Design, and has worked on a multitude of award-winning products for Samsung and Nike. Kharis also recently released his book for O’Reilly Media called “Designing for Mixed Reality.”

This session covers all the learnings from years of research into spatial computing conducted by Meta’s design and neuroscience team. We’ll examine how to apply those learnings to UX when you no longer control the users perspective, as in augmented reality. We’ll also showcase Meta’s new design guidelines and UX Kit.
